Implicit Bias: How to Identify and Interrupt It

History is a force that can influence us in the present without our awareness. This virtual training offers participants a discerning look at significant historical events in U.S. medicine that precipitated the experience of implicit bias in healthcare settings based on race. Using eye-opening examples to explore the threads of connection between past and present, the content uncovers some of the current consequences of implicit racial bias in healthcare access, delivery, and outcomes. Engaging and interactive, participants will be asked to reflect on their own perceptions and the current shift from race-based to race-conscious healthcare.
